DRIVERS on the Hume Freeway faced a long delay yesterday after a truck and car collided near the Spirit of Progress Bridge between the twin cities.

The crash occurred about 4.30pm and Wodonga’s Sgt Cameron Roberts said it appeared to be the result of a “merger gone wrong” on the northbound lanes.
No one was injured, traffic was diverted from the freeway and police from Albury and Wod-onga attended.
“There was a significant traffic jam after the accident,” Sgt Roberts said.
The SUV was damaged on the driver’s side but the truck was virtually unmarked.
