The Corowa-Rutherglen combine came together just four years ago and this winter has 11 of its 12 teams bound for the finals.
On Saturday six of them, including the division 3 men and women, will play in Corowa for the last time this season.
Organising committee member Julie Bartlett said the club continued to grow after joining forces back in 2010.
“Both clubs were struggling and after a couple of years of talks they united for 2010,” she said.
“We’ve had great success since then and continue to build our junior player numbers.
“At a recent Hook into Hockey promotion we had 60 kids involved — I think that was three times the number they got in Albury.
“We have a three-quarter synthetic pitch to train on but all our home games are on the grass at Ball Park.
“It is a great team sport for the boys, without the physical aggression of footy, and it suits the girls as well, particularly as an alternative to netball.”
Bartlett said the club had gone from strength to strength since the merger and now had more than 250 members.
She wanted to see as many old and new faces as possible on Saturday.
“We’d love as many people as possible get down to Ball Park from 9am to see some great local hockey,” she said.
“We’ve got heaps of activities planned with market stalls, a spinning wheel, games and club memorabilia.
“We thank all the local businesses who have supported the club with sponsorship and donated prizes for the day.
“There will be plenty of food and drinks and a bar available from 2pm.”
