A no-holds-barred performance by the bearded Nelson brothers on Wednesday night has propelled them into the grand final of a major Melbourne comedy talent quest.
The nine-week Angling for a Laugh comedy competition provides exposure for some of Melbourne’s best unknown stand-up comedy talents, and $2000 cash for the winners.
More than 350 punters at Maribyrnong’s Anglers Tavern watched the 24-year-old brothers in a five-minute act that drew heavily on their experiences of growing up as identical twins.
“There are no twin comedians out there so we thought we’d give it a go,” Chris Nelson said.
