Police officer assaulted during Olive Street fight
AN off-duty police officer was assaulted after trying to break up a fight in Olive Street yesterday morning.

Four people known to police were fighting at the taxi rank about 3.40am.
The 26-year-old officer, who lives in Beveridge just outside Melbourne's north, tried to break up the fight and was punched unconscious.
He sustained head injuries and was taken to Albury Base Hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for information.
