The incident has left the Saints seething with the club expected to ask the league to launch an investigation.
Martiniello went down in the final 10 minutes of the clash.
He will miss up to a month.
Benalla coach Luke Morgan said he was pleased with the victory over Seymour but believes the tempo will lift dramatically when they do battle with Shepparton Swans in the qualifying final at Mansfield on Saturday.
“Early we were a bit sluggish but I thought we worked into the groove in the second-half,” Morgan said.
“We’re just looking forward to playing Shepparton Swans now.”
Benalla forward Nick Warnock led the way against Seymour with seven goals while Josh Mellington chipped in with six.
Martiniello was best afield before being injured with support coming from James Martyn, James Martiniello and Jake Pallpratt.
In other matches, Mooroopna accounted for Shepparton Swans, Mansfield upset Euroa, Shepparton Swans and Shepparton United played a draw, Rochester hammered Echuca and Kyabram defeated Tatura.
