EMERGENCY crews are climbing Mt Bogong to rescue an injured man.
The man, believed to have been hiking, twisted his knee at Eskdale Spur - near where two snowboarders perished earlier this year.
An earlier attempt to retrieve him by helicopter was called off with high winds grounding the chopper.
9.46AM:
A RESCUE mission has just been launched to bring out a young man who has twisted his knee on Mt Bogong, at Eskdale Spur.
The location of the man is well known as the spot where two snow boarders died in July this year.
Rescue crews have the injured man's mobile number and are working out whether they can get a helicopter to the location.
If unsuccessful, a rescue team is due to hike to the spot this morning, where they hope to carry the man off the mountain on a stretcher.
More to come.
