Fiona Nash, who oversees the taskforce, will meet about 20 people at Huon Hill Hotel.
Her stop on the Border is part of a nationwide tour separate to the taskforce.
Information will feed in to the national strategy.
Ms Nash will meet people from various sectors including community health, rehabilitation services, police, hospitals, council, Anglicare, Mental health, indigenous leaders and youth services.
“We are looking at what we can do to ensure people are aware how devastating this drug is, what they can do to get off it and what we can do to ensure young people never start using in the first place,” Ms Nash said.
“Rural communities have been saying it is such a devastating drug and an issue that needs to be addressed.”
