The second placed Hawks play host to the in-form Eagles, who notched their sixth win of the season against Mulwala last weekend.
The Campbell-Goodwin match-up was one of the key battles identified by Hawks’ coach Leigh Ramsdale in the lead-up to the match.
“They’re a well-drilled, physical side,” Ramsdale said.
“That team has been together for a long time, and (playing coach) Dean Moon only brings more experience to the table for them.
“It’ll be up to our younger players to really take the game on early and try and burn them with a bit of leg-speed.”
Barooga sits a game clear of Echuca United and Mulwala, who have six wins apiece, and trails the unbeaten Tongala by a game.
While a win would see the Hawks further entrench themselves in second spot on the ladder, a loss would hamper their chances for a second place finish.
Ramsdale said one of the keys would be clogging the Eagles’ usually open forward line.
“They’ll typically leave a lot of space for Campbell to move around and use to his advantage, so as a team, particularly the midfield, we need to be aware of that,” he said.
“We’ll certainly look to curb the influence of Rowan Priest, I’m not sure who will get that match-up but he’s on our radar as one player that really needs to be tagged.
“I’m confident our back six can limit their scoring opportunities.
“That’s something we’ve been able to do well so far, and we absolutely have to do it again.”
