SILVERWOODS owners are poised to make the biggest financial investment in the golf and lifestyle resort at Yarrawonga they rescued two years ago with plans for a $35 million waterfront hotel.

Owner Peter Bozzo announced on Thursday a planning application had been submitted with Moira Council to build the hotel complex which also includes 300-seat conference facility, bar, bistro, gym and pool.
The complex will be built on the area known as "The Point" overlooking Lake Mulwala.
The Bozzo family took over Silverwoods development on the eastern side of Yarrawonga after the former owners hit financial difficulties.
A start on the project is contingent on council approval and selling half of the 120 rooms planned for the hotel to be operated under the Sebel banner.
"It is a typical of a project of this size to get some revenue in," Mr Bozzo said.
"But we've done the numbers to establish the market can support this size facility."
A jetty will also be available at the waterfront hotel, but long-terms to build a marina have been shelved.
Mr Bozzo unveiled his family company's plans to a delegation of Moira councillors including mayor Marie Martin, Don McPhee, Alex Monk and Don McPhee.
Senior staff members Leanne Mulcahy and Andrew Close also attended.
The resort's 18-hole golf course was completed in late May and roadworks in "The Point" have already commenced.
Twelve holes were initially constructed when Silverwoods opened in 2006.
Mr Bozzo said his own personal experience in holidaying in the Yarrawonga area told him the demand existed for more accommodation options.
"Friends of ours live here and when we come up here we can't book a motel room," he said.
"The demand is there.
"We will accelerate our selling campaign over the coming months.
"There is also a bit of vision and our family is bullish about the area."
Mr Bozzo said a builder of the hotel complex had not been appointed, but said there would be a major jobs boost during construction and when completed.
"It will be fantastic for this area," he said.
The Bozzo family operates a large scale scale stockfeed business and before buying Silverwoods they snapped up Tuppal Station near Tocumwal.
Their company Lotus Living operates Silverwoods.
