Mr Corboy won the secret ballot against Greg Lawrence at the pre-selection convention held at Wangaratta Turf Club on Saturday.
He was the hot favourite to become the first National Party canidate to contest Indi since 2001.
“The campaign begins today and I will be out in the community, listening to people’s concerns and developing a strong plan for the future of our region,” he said.
“I’m not someone who makes promises I can’t keep but I guarantee no-one will work harder than me for the people of Indi if I’m successful at the federal election.”
Mr Corboy is the production manager of a family operated stock-feed manufacturing company based in Wangaratta.
He joins the present member for Indi Cathy McGowan, Liberal Sophie Mirabella, Labor’s Eric Kerr, Country Party’s Julian Fidge, Greens’ Jenny O’Connor and independent Allan Lappin in the battle for one of the most watched seats at the next election.
