The AM station reacted this morning following a flood of negative feedback from listeners upset that Jones made derogatory comments about the Prime Minister's father.
Instead of Jones' usual highlights show airing from noon to 1pm, today listeners were treated to the Easy Listening Lunch which will replace the former Australian rugby union coach's program.
2AY boss Mark Taylor said the response from listeners made the decision simple and it would not be revisited.
Fellow Riverina station 2QN, based in Deniliquin, has also dropped Jones's show from its schedule.
