Yackandandah sculptor Xavier Pinard created the raptor which can be found on the Hollonds Street side of the Park Street Reserve.
Children, and adults, have already began to climb and slide over the wedge-tailed eagle.
It came as part of a $31,000 playground instalment under the Mount Beauty Progressing Place Project.
Resident Amanda Craik said she thought it was a great addition to the town.
“I think it’s a beautiful piece and love that it’s there for the kids to climb all over - and the adults,” she said.
“It's a great big stainless steel Eagle, they are a majestic animal.
“I love it.”
Alpine Shire mayor Ron Janas said it was funded by council as part of the CBD revitalisation.
“It's a fun thing for kids to play on and reflects what’s happening in our environment,” he said.
“It meets all the safety standards and we think it really enhances that area.”
