Bright rebounded from a disappointing round one loss to Tarrawingee with a strong win over Whorouly last weekend.
Alexander said while it was taking the side longer than last year to get up to speed, he was confident they will be up and about when it matters.
“We're coming off a good win last week, there were a few things we needed to work on after round one and we did that well,” he said.
“A lot of it came down to desire and intensity – we really brought that last week.
“Our skill level and decision making was much improved as well, I think we just need to settle into the season a bit.
“We started like a house on fire last year but went through a little bit of a slump mid-season, hopefully we'll be able to build at the right time this year.”
