It’s not the first time Fevola will have been a Glenrowan player – it’s just the first time he will have pulled on the yellow and black.
In a complicated deal, the Ovens and King club signed Fevola in 2012 so he could serve a one-match suspension from the VFL, then cleared him to Yarrawonga so he could play in the Pigeons’ season opener a week later.
“It would be nice if he had a soft spot for Glenrowan after what we've done,” then-coach John Gannon told The Border Mail at the time.
On Monday, Fevola will thank his “former club” as the Kelly Tigers look to bounce back from their first defeat in nine months in what shapes as a mouth-watering grand final replay at W.J. Findlay Oval.
Fevola has been in hot form in 2016, kicking nine goals in a farewell appearance for Yarrawonga before bagging 10 majors in his debut appearance for his new club in Melbourne, Deer Park.
He will link up with former Carlton teammate Karl Norman, who has enjoyed a strong start to the season for Glenrowan.
The contest will present undefeated Milawa with its first significant challenge of the season after 152, 134 and 192-point victories in the opening three rounds.
In other matches, Moyhu will be looking to end Goorambat and District’s undefeated start the season, in-form Tarrawingee will make it four victories on the trot against North Wangaratta, Bonnie Doon plays host to winless Whorouly, Benalla All Blacks should get the points at Greta and Bright and King Valley will do battle at Whitfield.
