The Roos overcame a 13-point deficit at the final change to jump into the top six at the expense of the Mountain Men with a 11.10 (76) to 9.9 (63) victory.
King Valley started brightly, kicking five goals to one in the opening term, but it could manage just one major in the next two quarters as the home side got on top through the midfield.
With their season on the line, Adam Evans and Adam Williams lifted in the last quarter to move the Roos four points clear inside the top six.
Bright sorely missed Tom Buckley, Dylan Cudmore and Sean McGregor, who are in Bali.
Goorambat and District kicked just one goal after quarter-time but did enough to severely dent Moyhu’s finals hopes with an eight-point win over the Hoppers.
Bonnie Doon, Glenrowan, Tarrawingee and Benalla All Blacks also scored wins.
