Hargreaves has just returned from a TA High Performance Training Camp in Darwin where she and four other leading junior coaches put 16 of Australia’s best young players through their paces.
“The camps are TA initiatives to help prepare leading youngsters for a future as junior and, ultimately, senior Australian Federation and Davis Cup representatives,” Hargreaves said.
“The region’s talent is looking really good, but they need a stepping stone between country-level and elite-level tennis.
“Hopefully through my roles I can help bridge that gap.”
Hargreaves, who coaches players from beginners to the gifted through her company Get a Grip on Tennis, was a top-six Australian representative herself and is Tennis Victoria’s North East Region Head of Player Development.
