Stomping leads to jail time

A man who punched a Lavington woman and stomped on her face with his foot will spend a maximum five years in jail.

Oliver Mohr, 42, of Lavington, was sentenced in Albury District Court on Wednesday and will be eligible for parole after three years.

He apologised during the plea hearing for causing fractures and severe bruising to the victim.

Wednesday’s The Border Mail incorrectly stated Mohr was facing a minimum jail sentence of seven years.
