The businesswoman and nurse yesterday accepted her position on the Indigo Council after preferences pushed her to the fourth councillor elected at the weekend poll.
“It is very exciting to be elected as a Greens candidate,” she said.
“I was the only one to declare a political affiliation and I knew that might work against me.
“But at the state election I had a big swing towards me and in some polling booths did better that Labor.
“My first responsibility will be to ratepayers and what is best for them — using Green values but voting in the best interests of the people.”
