Mr Joyce delegated Victorian Senator Bridget McKenzie to conduct round-table meetings to address actions needed to clear the backlog.
Member for Indi Cathy McGowan sought government action after hearing stories there have been delays of up to 20 weeks for dairy farming families to receive assistance through Centrelink.
Details of up to three meetings were to be finalised on Friday, November 11, but Ms Gowan’s office confirmed on November 18 details of the meetings had still not being released.
“There are more than 100 dairy farming families in North East Victoria, with up to 60 per cent in need of assistance, and 20 per cent are desperate,” Ms McGowan said last week.
She said cash flow was the crucial issue.
