Asked by The Border Mail if Mr Tilley had a chance of being a minister in a Guy government, the Opposition leader was enthusiastic.
“He certainly does cause he’s a guy that advocates for his community and is straightforward about it, they’re the kind of people you want sitting around a Cabinet table,” Mr Guy said.
The Liberal boss joined Mr Tilley at Wodonga’s Huon Hill hotel on Tuesday night for a party to laud the member for Benambra’s 10 years in parliament.
In marking that milestone Mr Tilley told The Border Mail on Saturday he still held hope of becoming a minister.
In response to Mr Guy’s plug, Mr Tilley was circumspect.
“When Matthew Guy becomes the premier of Victoria after November 2018 I will leave that to the good judgement to Matthew Guy if he wishes to include me in his cabinet,” he said.
