Myrtleford’s St Mary’s Primary School was evacuated in the morning but students had returned to class by noon.
Wangaratta West Primary School students were also evacuated and its principal Craig Johnson met with parents to brief them about 2pm.
Albury High School’s senior staff opted to lock down the school, with classes resuming after lunchtime.
A police spokeswoman confirmed a number of schools across Victoria received a threatening phone call.
“Those schools have enacted their emergency management plans as a precaution,” she said.
