Not having the ability to field a settled line-up on a consistent basis has proved a major challenge for Holbrook in 2016, but captain Dylan Fairall has been reasonably pleased with how they are travelling.
“We’re still missing a few so it’s just a matter of getting all of the guys on the park at the same time,” Fairall said.
“We’ve already won more games than we did all last season which is a positive, but there can be a little more improvement.”
Fairhall added Corey McCarthy has been a handy addition to the batting department after stepping up from the under 16s in recent weeks, while Cooper Walsh leads the club’s wickets with 10 in his first full season at senior level.
Culcairn will have an opportunity to further tighten the competition if it beats fourth-placed Henty in the weekend’s other game.
