Band members are fearful the major milestone of setting up in Hovell Street will be overshadowed by renewed wrangling about a replacement home due to the imminent extension of South Street.
The present works on Havelock Street have included a start on the South Street extension directly behind the band hall.
Tensions between the band and Wodonga Council have been tense since council ordered the band out in 2014 only to be over-ruled by the Victorian Treasury.
The 49-year-old band hall sits on Crown land.
Brass Band musical director Bruce Cook said the latest roadworks had left members feeling uneasy.
"Everyone who comes to band practice and looks out the back, wonders just how long we will be here for," he said.

"Blind Freddy can see what is going to happen, but we just don't know when.
"It's not the greatest feeling.
"They know who we are and where we are, but they haven't spoken to us at all."
A plan to co-locate the band, Albury-Wodonga Theatre Company and Wodonga's men's shed collapsed when the theatre company purchased the former Slovenian Club in South Albury.
Eight options had been put forward including Silva Drive pre-school, Felltimber community centre and Baranduda Hall, but all have been rejected.
Member for Benambra Bill Tilley raised the theatre company's plight in state parliament in 2013.
He urged council to resume talks about finding the band a replacement home.
"Council has made some offers, but they haven't been suitable to the band," he said.
"The treatment of the band hasn't been the best in this entire episode.
"This matter should have been sorted out a long time ago.""The band has a very big relationship and made an enormous contribution to the city."
A council spokeswoman confirmed talks had broken down.
"There is no timeframe on future works for the South Street extension as council does not own the building or the land where the hall is situated," she said.
"There are no ongoing discussions with the brass band at this time."
