After setting up in Albury with his melodica on Saturday night, some merry passers-by asked Jeremy Kerr if he could do a rendition of Da Rude’s 2001 rave anthem Sandstorm.
And Mr Kerr delivered, nailing every note on the spot, much to the joy of everyone involved.
Grainy mobile phone footage of the spectacle then emerged by Monday on popular Facebook page The LAD Bible, which posts funny tidbits its moderators find on the internet.
The reception to the clip is the stuff online advertisers dream of: three million views, 80,000 likes and 10,000 shares – all in a single day.
Mr Kerr said it had been a bemusing few days.
“I woke up, then went and looked on my phone to find I'd been tagged in the LAD Bible,” he said.
“I then saw the thumbnail of me sitting there and thought, ‘oh crikey’.”
