The sprinter and Australian rules footballer will head to Sydney in April to compete at his fourth Australian Athletics Championships.
Chesser will run in the under 15s 100m at Sydney Olympic Park in his fourth nationals campaign as an athlete, adding to his appearance for Victoria in football.
The rising star has competed at national meets in Queensland, Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria and qualified for this year’s event by medalling at the state championships in Melbourne.
Chesser was surprised to have reached the top stage after an interrupted lead-up.
“There’s another one later in the year, so I wasn’t expecting to make this one, but I qualified,” he said.
Chesser aims to eclipse his personal best of 12.22 and beat the 11-second mark for the first time in his career.
