The action kicked off on Monday with men’s pairs at Corowa Civic and women’s fours at Corowa Services and will finish on Friday.
API president Jim Rayner said players had travelled from throughout the country to take part.
“The players come from all over the place,” Rayner said.
“One even comes from Hervey Bay and wouldn’t miss it.
“This is the 47th year.”
Moama has hosted the carnival for the past 20 years but a change was required due to building renovations.
Corowa will host the event again next year with thousands of dollars set to be injected into the local economy.
Play will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with the institute’s annual general meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
It shapes as a big week for Corowa Civic with the club playing YMGCR in Saturday’s Ovens and Murray A1 pennant grand final.
