IF there was any doubt Albury’s Lisa Mitchell had broken free from her Australian Idol shackles then a Triple J feature album will surely do it.

Long-awaited, Mitchell’s debut CD Wonder shows a girl that has taken the time and learnt the lessons to get it right.
And while many wouldn’t expect it, Wonder is as varied and intriguing a CD as you’ll hear this year.
Like the title of one of her early tracks, Alice In Wonderland, Mitchell revels in taking the listener to far away, sunny places.
Quaint single Coin Laundry is best described as a faux hip-hop lullaby, while Red Wine Lips is an immediate favourite complete with a cheeky xylophone.
The rhythmic Sidekick is the finest moment on Wonder — musically and lyrically.
And the lively Oh! Hark! has hit written all over it.
