I took the family out on Easter Monday for a quick, late session from Drummonds Reserve. After failing to catch anything decent, we decided to troll home late. Then, after a triple hook up on a Green Tiger Wide Bodied McGrath and Tiger Custom Crafted Tadpole, anchored and then proceeded to hook into around 40 fish, with a dozen or so being good ones. All this happened in the last 30 minutes of daylight – and yes my partner caught the biggest reddie of 35cm. TT Blades, small Yabbies and Jackalls all with small plastics above accounted for all the fish.
It’s hard work below the weir wall, with lead fish again working well and the odd fish further down on worms. The odd small cod on cheese does well downstream from the wall.
The irrigation season is all done and dusted, so it wont be long before releases from Lake Hume are reduced to winter flows.
