Local detectives searched the housing commission property, on the corner of Trudewind Road and Muir Court, on Wednesday.
A 42-year-old man was arrested at the house but is yet to be questioned or charged.
Several firearms were removed from inside the property.
Members of the Clandestine Laboratory Squad were called in from Melbourne and further searched through the home and a tin shed along a side fence while wearing breathing apparatus and other protective equipment.
An old Mitsubishi Magna and Holden Commodore in the driveway were also searched by police.
It was unclear if any drugs were seized in the raid, but several items were removed as evidence.
At least three guns were removed from the house, along with swords.
Officers spent several hours combing through the property.
The Chemical Biological Radiological Unit was also involved in the operation.
Nearby residents said the property had been the scene of many issues over the years.
Ross, who declined to give his last name, said a man and woman had been living in the home for about 12 to 18 months.
He has lived close by for nearly 25 years and said it was the fifth or sixth serious incident he had seen at the home.
There had been a recent incident where it sounded like someone was being hit with a baseball bat, he said.
The man is recovering from major surgery and said he was keen to leave the area and move into a different home.
“There have been a few arguments, a couple of humdinger arguments,” he said.
Ross was surprised to find close to 10 police cars outside the property when he arrived home on Wednesday morning.
Another woman, who asked not to be named, said she was keen to get away from the home.
“You can walk out the front sometimes and see needles lying around outside,” she said.
“I’ve got four kids, I don’t want them to be standing on needles.
“I’m moving, I’m getting out of this area.
“I just can’t do it any more for my kids.
“They don’t need to see this.”
Footage filmed at the scene by a television crew showed the 42-year-old shaking at the home.
He covered his head with a hoodie before being led away from the area in handcuffs.
Crowds gathered near the white brick house to watch the police search through the home.
