The cinema, which will be established in a section of the club's auditorium, will be entirely bankrolled by the stronger communities funding announced on Tuesday.
Club president Malcolm McLean said it had to "look outside the square" to attract more people and hoped to have similar success to a similar sized cinema established at the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Golf Resort three years ago.
"We are really aware of the importance of spending this money wisely," he said.
"It is a community project.
"We've had to look outside the square because for four to five months of the year we don't have a lot of participation in our golf activities."
The council had been investigating options for a cinema in Corowa before the golf club stepped forward.
The REX Theatre building in Sanger Street had been considered as an option.
Other projects in Corowa to receive funding included the skate park ($333,170), Bangerang Park ($500,963) and RSL Park ($115,451).
