Inspector Ian Youman, of Albury police, said a 79-year-old Wodonga man had been attempting to correct his park in the club’s car park about 9.30am.
The car stopped 20 metres into the club, damaging the outside doors, a bollard and several tables and chairs. No one was in the seating area at the time while the driver was assessed by paramedics and had no injuries.
In other police news, a 21-year-old Wodonga man underwent surgery and remains under police guard after an assault in Thurgoona.
Inspector Youman said a 20-year-old Thurgoona man at his home became involved in a violent dispute with the other man.
Both men were taken to hospital with lacerations and stab wounds from knives and a tomahawk used in the fight. The Thurgoona man was released following treatment.
Albury detectives are investigating.
