Only two residents of the former Tumbarumba shire have put their hands up as candidates in the Snowy Valleys council election, according to the electoral commission website on Wednesday evening.

It comes as Save Tumbarumba Shire campaigns for the region to de-merge from the former Tumut Shire.
On Tuesday, Tumbarumba representatives met with Premier Gladys Berejiklian but received no reassurance of a de-merge.
Bruce Wright is the only nominee living in Tumbarumba.
The other former Tumbarumba shire candidate is Julia Ham is of Westdale.
Candidates from Tumut are newcomers Andriana Benjamin and Cate Cross, alongside previous councillors Audrey McKenzie and Geoff Pritchard.
Former councillor James Hayes of Adelong, former councillor Margaret Isselmann of Batlow, Cornelius Smit of Batlow and former mayor John Larter of Mundongo are also standing for election.
