The pooches, River (Australian Shepard), Indie (Border Collie) and Maisiy (Dachshund) were put through their paces in a bid to impress the Golden Guitar Winner in Albury on Thursday.
In a tour-first, Ms Schneider selected all three dogs to perform with her on stage during her Melinda Does Dorris Albury show on August 20.
She said multiple dogs had been chosen before but never from separate families, with the three hounds just too “pawfect” to pass up.
“They’re all very well behaved so I don’t think we’ll have any major hiccups,” she said.
Linda and Anthony Baker, who are the owners of Maisiy, said they didn’t think she’d be lucky enough to win.
Mrs Baker said Maisiy was very much Anthony’s dog, but it had been her idea to enter the Dachshund into the audition, with Anthony reluctantly coming along.
“We love her to bits and I thought it would be fun,” she said.
“I didn’t think she’d meet the requirements because the dogs are meant to jump onto a chair, which she failed miserably.
“We just hoped Melinda would fall in love anyway.”
Aimee Hollonds said her rescue Border Collie, Indie, had always been a bit of a music lover and up for tail-wagging fun.
“She’s quite intelligent and switched on,” she said.
“She loves the guitar and will fall asleep listening to it in front of the fire.”
The pooches and Ms Schneider will appear at the Albury Entertainment Centre.
