Chris Seaton will join his younger brother Mitch in Tallangatta’s final round home clash against Wodonga Saints.
“Mitch had been nagging me to come to training at least and about five games ago, I thought I’d better go have a run around, just to get a bit of fitness,” he said.
“I’d been playing reserves and really enjoyed it.”
The 187-centimetre Seaton played in the Hoppers’ ruck, highlighting his leap.
But he’s hoping to learn more about the sport at senior level.
“In reserves a lot of the blokes were just turning up and playing, so there wasn’t a lot of talk, so it was really difficult for me to know what I was meant to do,” he said.
“They just let me do my thing, which might not exactly have been the right thing to do.
“I hope to get specific jobs from ‘Livo (coach Sam Livingstone) and do what he says.
“If that’s whack someone, I’ll whack someone, if it’s to try and get the ball, I’ll try and get the ball.
“I don’t care, whatever he says, I’m happy to do and learn as I go.”
Seaton had only played his newfound sport in primary school, spending around 20 years on motorbikes, with much on that at a world-class level.
He’d also played six seasons of league as a deceptively strong centre or winger.
“I don’t think I’d go back, no,” he said when quizzed on a league return, given he’s just turned 33 and runs his own carpentry business, which saw him based in Bendigo on Friday.
“I hope Mitch does because he really misses it too.
“I absolutely miss it.”
