The consolidation of students at the Thurgoona K-12 campus will take effect from the start of the 2018 school year in a move announced to parents on Monday night.
Relocation was recommended by the school council following an independent review and has the backing of the Anglican Schools Commission.
The Wodonga campus in Ellen McDonald Drive, Baranduda will be retained by Trinity and used for “specialist activities” by students.
It opened in 2004 with 38 students and eight teachers.
Principal Justin Beckett said the decision had been made in the best interests of all Trinity students.
“Key findings in an independent review of the Wodonga campus found parents wanted their children to learn in innovative learning spaces and have access to the rich experience of sporting, music and drama programs available at the Albury campus,” he said.
“It wasn’t possible for the college to split resources between both campuses to deliver this outcome at Wodonga.
“We wanted to ensure that our Wodonga students were offered every opportunity and facility received by their Albury counterparts and the decision was made to combine our students at one campus to the benefit of everyone.”
Mr Beckett said the college had informed staff and families and would now work with them to ensure a smooth transition was made.
The Wodonga campus will be used for specialist learning programs including leadership training, a year nine discovery program and junior school activities, according to Mr Beckett.
“We will ensure that there are opportunities for our Wodonga students to visit the Albury campus, meet the Albury students and have time to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings,” he said.
The Wodonga students will join 1100 at the Thurgoona campus located in Elizabeth Mitchell Drive.
Trinity Anglican College is the largest independent school in the Albury-Wodonga region with the school founded in 2002 with 17 students.
A Trinity spokeswoman confirmed there would be no impact on existing staffing arrangements.
