McDiarmid was a clear standout as Albury City powered into yet another Cup final, polling 34 votes to finish ahead of last year's winner, Claire Mahoney from St Pats (28).
Wangaratta's Bianca Mulqueen, Boomers FC's Maddy Harris and Melrose FC's Maya Davis all polled 19 votes, followed by Albury United star Alicia Torcaso and Wangaratta's Caitlin Rizzo on 16 votes.
It's been a whirlwind year for McDiarmid, who only returned to the field this season after taking a break from the game for a few years.
The midfielder said she had been able to gel with her new teammates very quickly.
“The girls have really welcomed me with open arms, I feel like I've fit in really nicely with the team and we've had a great season,” she said.
“Hopefully we can continue that run on Sunday.
“It's always challenging against Boomers, they're an extremely strong side.
“It's never easy, so it should be a really good game.”
McDiarmid said he had quickly felt at home mixing with Albury City's blend of youth and experience.
On-field chemistry hasn't been an issue for the reigning Cup champions, who have progressed through the season undefeated with 24 consecutive victories.
“We had a really good pre-season, we had a great turnout from the start, so we knew we had a group of girls were willing to commit,” she said.
“We were able to get that to continue through each Sunday.
“Earlier in my senior playing days the older girls were really good role models for me, so I tried to continue that with the younger girls here.
“It's been nice to encourage the girls like I was encouraged.”
Albury United star striker Alicia Torcaso won the senior women's Golden Boot with 34 goals, finishing ahead of Wangaratta's Bianca Mulqueen (29) and Boomers duo Alarna Parascos and Torey Saisanid (26).
Albury United young gun Lisa Cary won the Franco Bertazzo Junior Player of the Year.
Albury City's Bryan Staley won the Coach of the Year award.
