Six of the region’s leading green homes will participate in Sustainable House Day.
Rutherglen Hemp House is a passive solar-designed, concrete-free home made from Hempcrete with lime render, including most of the internal walls.
Other properties include Alatalo Bros Enviro 9 display home at Thurgoona; an energy-efficient home in Central Park Wodonga; Yr Ogof Ddyn – Welsh for the Man Cave, a clay house at Wilby; and a Solar Skillion Sleepout at Benalla.
Not-for-profit organisation Alternative Technology Association hosts the event between 10am and 4pm.
In 2016, 17,287 people visited 154 homes across Australia.
