“Yeah, I’ll definitely be right,” he said in a jubilant dressing room.
The former Melbourne forward, who finished second in the Doug Strang Medal, will head into the decider against Albury with just over a half of football since he first suffered the complaint on July 29.
“He got through everything he needed to at Saturday training and it’s a massive call to leave your captain and an absolute gun out,” coach Dean Stone said.
“It broke my heart, but it’s going to work out OK because he’ll play next week.”
