That follows this week’s sentencing in the District Court in Albury of Mistee Teresa Royal.
The former hip-hop dance school teacher recruited up to a dozen people to her syndicate, which she used to supply low-level dealers with large amounts of marijuana.
At first Royal was going to contest the allegations against her, but in June indicated to the Local Court in Albury that she had changed her mind.
The 30-year-old then pleaded guilty to six counts of supplying a prohibited drug and a single charge of concealing an indictable offence.
That resulted in prosecutors making the decision to drop a host of other charges.
Royal was given a total aggregate sentence of two years and seven months in jail, backdated to when she first went into custody on November 5, 2016.
The sentence will expire on June 4, 2019.
But the District Court’s setting of a non-parole period of one year and one month means Royal will be released from jail in early December.
On her release Royal will be subject to strict parole conditions, including being referred to drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs and regular urine screening.
The Local Court heard previously how police estimated the marijuana she supplied to lower-level dealers would have been valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars if sold in single-gram deals.
Royal’s criminal ways were uncovered by NSW Police’s Strike Force Bara.
That involved electronic monitoring that revealed Royal talking openly about her drug-dealing, with her cannabis sourced from Sydney.
