Four rooms will be used for Wangaratta hospital’s transitional care program, minimising older people’s inappropriately long stays in public health services.
The facility was officially opened by Northern Victoria MP Jaclyn Symes on Thursday.
“Illoura is an Aboriginal word for ‘pleasant place’ and as I look around this site I can see there is certainly truth in that,” she said.
