North fell to premiers Wodonga by just 17 runs after finishing second following the regular season.
“We definitely look stronger than we did,” Borella said.
“We’ve got pretty good depth and I just think we’ll gel better as a group.”
Borella was the association’s leading run-scorer with 670 at 44.67.
He was ultra-consistent with six half-centuries supporting his one ton.
Greg Daniel finished 10th with 428 runs.
North had no other players in the top 25, so Borella and coach Matt Kirkwood will be hoping to get at least two more in that category, therefore lightening the load on the captain and Daniel.
Imports Ryan Addison and Ryan Macbeth will spearhead the bowling, with support from Daniel and Brandon Purtell, who will miss the opening weekend against Lavington and Wodonga.
