Ord’s photograph of Albury meningococcal survivor, Olympic and Commonwealth Games athlete Eliza Ault-Connell has been named a finalist in the Fremantle International Portrait Prize 2017.
From 1500 entries Ord’s photograph of Ms Ault-Connell at the Albury Athletics Track training for upcoming competitions in wheelchair racing, was selected.
The winners will be announced Saturday 21 October 2017 with the exhibition is open from 22nd October.
Ord’s portrait of Annette Baker which was a finalist in this year’s National Portrait Prize has also been named one of nine finalists in the Melbourne category of the Cliftons Art Prize.
Ord said she was working on photographing local people that are unrecognised trailblazers who inspire the community.
