Although both parties are remaining tight-lipped, it is believed a decision has been made to sever ties after one season.
Jay Dale said he would comment after Lee returned from the US on November 19.
“We won’t be commenting until he (Lee) is home,” Jay said.
Lee was the TDFL’s best player in their hefty loss to the Hume league at Sandy Creek this year and followed up by polling 27 votes to win the Barton Medal from Thurgoona’s Aydan Brown.
The Dales returned to Yackandandah from rivals Beechworth this year to take over from Greg Newbold and Trent Castles.
The Roos finished sixth with nine wins, eight losses and a draw.
The reason for the Dales’ impending departure remains a mystery particularly with the TDFL season finishing just over two months ago.
Lee won Myrtleford’s best and fairest in 2012 and has spent time with VFL clubs Northern Bullants and Werribee.
The possible departure of the Dales comes only months after prolific goalicker Castles committed to Hume league club Jindera.
Although Yackandandah has taken out the last three under-17 premierships, it has been starved of senior success with the Roos last playing finals in 2010 when it lost the grand final to Beechworth.
Meanwhile, Lavington’s Ben Murphy will play for Kiewa-Sandy Creek next season.
Murphy played every match for the Panthers this year and will slot into a midfield which was competitive for a half against Thurgoona in this year’s grand final.
He played 31 senior matches at Lavington and 18 at Wodonga Raiders.
Victoria Country representative Jack Di Mizio has joined Kiewa-Sandy Creek from Wodonga Raiders while Zak Collins has switched from Wodonga and Jack Andrew is back from overseas.
