Fourth-placed Dederang is home to the undefeated Lavington, while Yackandandah faces another unbeaten team in ladder leader Wodonga.
“They’d certainly be one of (the strongest teams on paper),” Yackandandah captain Andrew Lockett said.
“They’ve certainly improved from the last couple of years.”
Wodonga has finished eighth, seventh and 10th in the past three seasons respectively.
But it’s bolted to four straight wins.
“They’ve obviously got a few unknown, they’ve got a pretty good juniors system so you never know who bobs up out of their kids,” Lockett said.
Wodonga boasts four of the top seven wicket-takers.
Mason Brown and Dederang’s Lachlan Lewin lead the charge with 10, with Wodonga’s Charlie Jackson, Elijah Hollands and Leigh Collins in a group with eight scalps.
Collins is one of a handful of provincial premiership players in the team, although Andrew Berg hasn’t been named for the away clash.
Yackandandah is coming off the bye.
“I think we’ve made a pretty good start, we’ve been limited with availabilities at times,” Lockett said.
“I think the three teams we’ve come up against will probably be going to be competing for finals spots and we’ve had three good wins.
“It’s probably the best depth we’ve had, certainly in my four years there.”
Yackandandah boasts a number of exciting youngsters in Cooper Garoni, Bailey Glass and Cam Evans.
“They’ve missed a few games, so they drive our side, if we don’t have them, it falls to a few older blokes,” Lockett said.
“They’ve been in our A grade side, a couple of those guys since they were 15, they’re now 18-19 years of age.”
Elsewhere, Baranduda is home to Howlong, while Eskdale hosts Bethanga.
And grand finalist Kiewa will look to break its winless streak at home against impressive competition newcomer Corowa.
