Stephanie Jakovac said the annual opening of Lubek Art Studio allowed people to see not just her art, but also the environment where it was created.
“I enjoy people coming to my studio,” she said.
“Most of the time it is solitary work, so it is nice.
“I’ve had people coming year after year and they love to see the progress of my work.”
Jakovac studied art in her native Slovenia before working first as a graphic artist in Australia and then concentrating fully on her paintings.
Lubek Art Studio has been purpose-built for the artist.
“I believe artists have to share art, first to educate younger generations and other people and to share what they believe and maybe tell stories through art; I don’t write books but I paint,” Jakovac said.
- Lubek Art Studio, 329 Wirraway Street, Albury, will be open between 10am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. For more details, ring (02) 6023 6464
