The pair, who wished to remain anonymous, had not realised their success despite a public call by Tatts officials yesterday to find the mystery winner.
The husband had even read about the winning entry being bought at Wodonga Plaza Cards and TattsLotto.
“But I didn’t think it was us,” he said.
“It’s just fantastic.
“The main thing is we’ll be able to help our family.
“We can also do some trips, whatever trips we want without thinking too much.”
The woman said they had been playing those numbers all their married life.
“Now I’m shaking like a leaf,” she said.
“We were planning, if we could afford it, a Mediterranean cruise next year.
“It’s going to happen now!”
Wodonga Plaza Cards and TattsLotto owner Tony Thorp said it was great news that the division one winner, the shop’s third in 18 months, had been found.
“It was crazy yesterday with so many people coming in and checking their tickets,” he said.
