After being a sports tragic her entire life, Cossar is now paid to watch it.
“It’s really exciting,” Cossar said.
“I get to do something I’m absolutely passionate about.”
Cossar, who was an assistant-coach for the Murray Bushrangers girls side this year, will be in charge of searching for talented players in the TAC Cup club’s zone.
The Toni Wilson Medallist believes youngsters won’t have to make a choice between football and netball.
“Netball is predominantly on Saturday and football on Sunday so youth girls don’t have to choose one over the other,” she said.
“They are in the best possible position.
“They can play both which is fantastic.
“If footy was around when I started playing netball I definitely would have played both.”
Cossar cited Collingwood’s Ash Brazill as an example of combining the sports.
She was picked at selection 35 in the recent AFLW draft and will play for the Magpies in the Super Netball series.
“The AFLW season starts on February 2 and Super Netball season at the end of April so Ash can play both,” she said.
Murray Bushrangers talent manager Mick Wilson said Cossar made a big impression last season.
“The Murray Bushrangers TAC Cup girls team had an outstanding inaugural season and Briana’s contribution was significant,” Cossar said.
“She has a passion for providing an opportunity for young women to develop via sports participation.”
The Bushrangers start training on November 26.
