When Reproductive Medicine Albury opened back in 1988, it was the first regional IVF unit in Australia.
Its founder Dr Scott Giltrap this year received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his service to medicine, particularly regional areas.
Since opening, the Reproductive Medicine Albury clinic has developed into a large team of professionals who service a wide referral area.
Dr Giltrap said the clinic had grown into a comprehensive fertility service with doctors, nurses, embryologists, counsellors and administration support staff.
It specialises in providing assessment and advice and is not only a provider of IVF.
"IVF is one of the treatments that we use to assist patients in achieving a pregnancy," Dr Giltrap said.
"We also specialise in the management of endometriosis at the highest and most complex level.
"We are a 'fertility clinic' as opposed to an 'IVF clinic'.
"The distinction here is quite important – our concern is that many patients now equate infertility with needing IVF.
"This is not always the case and we offer specialist fertility care that means that we will be able to treat many patients with fertility care and they will be able to become pregnant without needing to have IVF."

Dr Giltrap said the service included specialist assessment and management of patients with infertility problems.
"When we decide that patients do require IVF, we are proud to say that our IVF unit has exceptionally high Live Birth Rates compared with other units throughout Australia," he said.
"Patients do not need to travel to capital cities to access the very best in specialist fertility care.
"We are one of the most successful IVF units in Australia."
Dr Giltrap said his clinic reported on Live Birth Rate as a measure because this is the only realistic indication of success - a baby.
Reproductive Medicine Albury, which is a member of Monash IVF Group, is located at Yalandra Court, West Albury.
