A fire suspected to be started by a lightning strike in the Alpine National Park on Thursday was contained to two hectares.

The blaze broke out at about 8.30am seven kilometres south west of Mount Hotham Village, in remote bushland near the intersection of Dargo High Plains and Great Alpine roads.
Seven firefighting aircraft, including rappel crews, plus ground crews and bulldozers responded to the fire, which was managed was Fire Forest Management Victoria.
