Mikayla Talbot from Jindera Public School and St Patrick’s Holbrook student Scarlet Galvin will represent NSW at the games. 

Across the border, Eskdale Public School product Dakira Cooper and Melrose Primary School’s Logan Sandland will both compete for Victoria.

Galvin was crowned the high jump state champion in Sydney and will look to repeat that effort against the best in the country.

At the same meet, Talbot placed third for long jump. 

The 10-year-old earned selection for the games where she will compete in the 100m sprint, shot put, 800m and long jump.

Cooper won the silver medal in the girls discus at the Victorian state titles, while Sandland won the boys event and both will try to match it at national level.

All four athletes are members of Albury Little Athletics and club president Jerrem McGuire is very excited by the news.

“It’s the first time the club has had four athletes selected to go to the Pacific Games and to have two representing each state is a great result,” he said.

“The club is very proud of all of their achievements”. 

The Pacific School Games will host around 4000 students across 11 sports from at least 15 countries.
